Although the roster changes periodically, I stay pretty consistently at six basses (all 4 string). These are (by function):
1. Electric upright bass
2. Fancy boutique active bass
3. Fretless
4. P-style bass w/ flats
5. Old beater bass for taking to jams (which plays and sounds great)
6. Cheap acoustic-electric bass

3; a main player, a backup and I picked up an acoustic because I got tired of the power going out here everytime we have a hurricane. The Dingwall really gets all the stage time, jazz is more so a "just in case" backup so I play it the least. Acoustic actually probably gets the most playing time at home just because especially during the week when I'm busy with work it's hard to find a good chunk of time to play and it's really convenient to just grab it and start running through scales and exercises.

I miss playing fretless but my long term goal is to convert the jazz to fretless with a neck swap. It's just not been a priority
