Zero paying gigs. A little over 100 church services (which I consider gigs - I don’t try (or want) to play for money.

Not too many, I voted 53-100 (not sure about the exact number, but they should be 50-60).
I don't play live as much as I did when I was younger: I'm also a music teacher so it's the school that pays my bills. I refuse underpaid gigs, and play mostly the gigs I like - or I accept the ones I don't like if they're very well payed.
This year I'll turn 50: life is too short to play anything just to play, being underpaid or for free (I play for free only for good reasons, i.e. benefit when I know exactly any detail of the operation, and if I agree with the cause).

Zero. Despite doing the band and gig thing for years I currently just play as a hobby now with an occasional casual jam session with some friends. Went to a lot of gigs though.
Just a handful. The current band got started gigging in July and we're shooting for one a month. Just got some nice momentum when our keys player had to have his hip replaced. We're getting back to rehearsals this week.
I do the church thing almost every week. It's fun, but nothing like a real gig with the devil's music.

About 84. Would've been a lot more but Hurricane Harvey took a bite out of the calendar AND we decided on a 2-1/2 week break for Christmas and New Years.
PS: We don't do NYE parties anymore. Too many drunk drivers, looney tunes, sad people, and more than a few south Texas musicians have been injured by them.

In December of 2016 I looked at my calendar and realized I had literally nothing booked for 2017. Cue a round of self-doubt. Next thing I know, the calls just started coming and I ended up having my busiest year by far since I got back into it seven years ago. I already have 25 dates booked for 2018. I'm hoping to keep it to 50 max but I have a hard time saying "no" to musicians I respect.

My main gig debanded at the end of 2016 so in 2017 it was only fill-ins and single show projects.

All paid. But the number is skewed. I play woodwinds in musicals, 7 shows/week for around 4 months in the year. my bass gigs in cover bands was probably only 15.

Once a month in town and once a month out of town sometimes three gigs a month. Think there was two occasions where we played 4 weekends in a row. Gigs aside we stayed pretty busy until December when everyone went on vacation. if we didn’t have a gig we were typically shooting a music video or recording. Messed up and slacked off on booking though so now January is going to be slow. which isn’t that big of a deal because we’re shooting two more music videos.

Dropped one of the bands I worked for in January (usually 20 gigs/year)....and haven't replaced it.
Fifty is good....gives me something to look forward to, and still allows for other interests.

25 ... 19 of those were in a three month period from June through August. Lots of summer ribfests. Postive: generally twice the pay for 1/3 the playing time (compared to bar gigs). Backline typically provided. Not so positive: Long drives for most gigs. Only 1/3 the playing time (compared to bar gigs).
