Context matters here, I think. There are those with whom I’ve had conflicting opinions and those I’ve found offputting and antagonistic within specific discussions, but those same people make productive and enjoyable contributions more or less everywhere else. If I ignored them, my overall experience would more often be hurt than helped by their absence.

I imagine the ignore feature is best reserved for persistent griefers targetting you in particular over multiple topics, which I suppose probably happens among veterans who’ve had time to hate each other, but still seems silly.

I mean, if a person thought I was important enough to expend their own time and energy antagonizing, I feel like watching them freely give that much of their life to me would be too satisfying to get upset over.

I mostly use it to hide content from people who post frequently their opinion about gear but who don’t gig or record. It’s nothing personal at all but their use scenario is totally different from mine, and if I’m looking for gear reviews I want to focus my attention on information that is relevant to me.
