In this thread that happens, but in other threads you never see the post unless you click to see what you're ignoring.
I have one person on ignore. I can tell when they post in a thread as I'll see an option to show ignored content at the bottom of the page. As long as I don't click that, the post never shows and any responses to it don't show either.

That's how mine works too. Probably a preferences menu option.

Most of the annoying ones are on here for just that. Sometimes I don’t even think they play bass.

I think there is a correlation & have noticed the folks who seem to be intent on getting under other people's skin almost never have anything to contribute to the actual gear or technique discussions.

28 - not because of their opinions, but their bad attitude or they just waffle on.

Must not take much to set you off if you really have that many on an ignore list.

Which makes me wonder how you handle being stuck in traffic, long lines at checkouts, crappy weather, etc...... you know, day to day real life?

Like many others have said I can ignore people without using the ignore feature. Better not to respond to trollish behavior, if you feed them they will be back for more. Sometimes I forget that myself.
It is good to remember that I might get under people's skin myself, that helps me give others more slack.

Well said about trolls. Acknowledge them and they win.

I kinda use the ignore feature as a gentle reminder to myself that I don't interact with someone -- the "do not feed the trolls" rule. I can always click "show ignored content" if I'm curious. I can usually tell which kinds of threads will attract the people on my list.

A fair number on my list have been banned.

I think the most people I've ever had on my "ignore" list at once was 3... or was it 4? I forget... Never for very long, though; not intentionally, anyway. I tend to forget that they're on there. I should check it more often, I guess... I use "ignore" kinda like fdeck does; more as a way for me to cool off, than anything else. If I don't see their avatar/posts for for a while, I tend to forget who they are, and what the whole thing was about. And, at my age, that doesn't seem to take very long anymore... And, as for carrots? I always vote for carrots...
