Is it possible to use G strings to tune up to a C?
Possible, but NOT a good idea! If you can't find an EADGC five-string set, then get a four string set and add a single. Gauge for high C string is typically .032

If you don't need the Low B the high C sounds likes a nice alternate. You can get some really nice chord work going. Of course no one makes that 5 string set but you can simply buy a 6 string set and lose the B. Not a problem!![]()
