Why not? It implies that white blondes are idiots. Sexist would be if you said women were stupid. I realize some women dye their hair, but for the most part it's white women that it's directed at. I had to think about this too.

Not trying to belabor this [I see where you're coming from], but blonde jokes are [mostly] directed at women, which would make it sexist, not racist, even if they are mostly white women. It would also have to apply to white men and come from another ethnic group to make it racist - IME.
Racism definition from dictionary:
1. a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human racial groups determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to dominate others or that a particular racial group is inferior to the others.
2. a policy, system of government, etc., based upon or fostering such a doctrine; discrimination.
3. hatred or intolerance of another race or other races

There's no mention of women in that, blonde or not!

We are not belaboring this. It is a civilized discussion about something that needs to go away. Sexism against Women was not my point. Racism against "Blonde" women was. Most Blondes, of which we know the joke was intended, are "White". # 1 and maybe #3 apply. If the joke was directed at Women/Girls, then remove the word Blonde from it. Hmmm. Makes it sexist, but suddenly not racist. What if you replaced Blonde with Afro, "If the Bassist was a girl with an afro, then only one, she is holding the bulb and the world is spinning around her." Sounds awful right? I am not being overly sensitive in this, I now see what it reall is.

I'm not saying it doesn't need to go away.. disagreeing with labeling it as racist vs sexist.
Afro is a hair style mostly associated with a minority group that does tend toward a racist slant. Can't say that for blondes.
I guess we'll have to disagree on the terminology being used.

Afro is not a hair "Style" it is a type of hair one is born with. A style is how it is cut or combed to look a certain way. When you hear "Blondes" you can't tell me you don' think of white people, regardless of whether or not a woman/girl is mentioned.. How many natural Blondes are not white? Seriously. Your not being honest. The key word of these jokes is Blonde, not woman/women/girls. The fact that its about blondes is what supposedly makes it funny, not what it says about women. ?? Otherwise the joke would be "How many WOMEN can change the light Bulb?"
That's it I tried. No offense. Good little debate. I hope I have opened an eye or two though. Sorry about this everyone, but I think it's time to stop that kind of thing. I love blondes, have a blonde bass. Some of my best friends are blonde:) BTW Blondes can't necessarily be considered a minority group now.
