How many TBers don't use straplocks?

I think that the angle that want your bass, has a lot to do with whether or not your have an issue with your strap popping off. I have that issue and use strap locks, and it does the desired job. At the end of the day there is no right or wrong solution. It's all dependant on the individual scenario.

I didn't use them until I bought my Aerodyne, took it home and the first band practice minutes later my bass almost ended up on the floor....twice. Thought maybe the first time it was just my error but it was the strap, and I never took the chance since. The only bass I don't have straplocks on is my MM, because it has a great thick strap button and I have a thick strap on it that doesn't come off.

i dont use straplocks, i use a levy's leather strap that holds the bass firm enough.

I use the wide stretchy Levy strap also w/ leather ends. It's hard enough to get on much less come off. When I was younger and playing beach music (moved around a lot more than I do now) I used the little plastic tabs that came on loaf bread bags. They fit standard end pins and act a locking washer. I can see how the young guys that are all over the stage might need a real strap lock.

I have never used strap locks, never needed to. However, I also don't jump around on stage or do any acrobatic stuff that would warrant their use (I do see a need for them for some people in that respect). But I do use quality straps which I think is the key thing here. Using cheap cheesy straps is just askin' for trouble.........

8 basses, 5 straps.

But 3 of the basses have something locking the strap. My frankenbass came with 'em, I installed some on my ESP and I installed a DiMarzio clip-strap on my Carvin.
My other 2 straps rotate between basses. One is shared between by 2 SX's and the other one goes between my Clement, Yamaha and T-40.
