How many TBers don't use straplocks?

I have one with and one with out and I do feel more secure with the Straplocks...

nope. I never take the straps off my basses and they're nice leather and tight. If one of them falls of my shoulder it's because a screw came out and that's something a strap lock wouldn't help anyway

i also never take the strap off.

it went on nice and tight and by keeping it on all the time, it doesn't loosen the leather.

Keep the strap on all the time and it will be fine

I tried them and hated it when they rattled. So I instead got all Couch guitar straps which death-grip onto the bolt regardless of any locks. I carry my basses around without fear and have done it this way for a couple of years now.

I don't either, I just use duck-tape. No points in using them when the screw itself pops out... that's what happened to me once.

brass inserts + wood glue + straplocks = this **** isn't going anywhere.

I jump around and move so much on stage that I basically have to have them.

In my 50-year career I've never used ANY brand of straplocks . . .

of course, ALL of my instruments have their own straps permenently screwed to the instrument (usually with a washer) . . . . . .

I am using them and never had a problem because I don't toss my axe around. I have seen staplocks and regular strap buttons both fail. I think the reason the straplocks fail is because they stick out further and that allows more leverage against the screws. I overcame that extra force by installing the recessed strap locks. Less leverage than both lock and buttons and they look VERY Clean. and I am totally relaxed about my strap situation now.

I still have the same leather straps from 25 years ago, they're startin' to show their age due to sweat and wear over the years.

I mostly use the plastic things on bass/strap combinations that seem suspect.

The guys who never have a need for them haven't had their bass neck have that first intimate encounter with the crash cymbal as it's continues its downward trajectory to the concrete rehearsal room floor. Then, and only then do you buy them, not before.

No points in using them when the screw itself pops out... that's what happened to me once.

Same thing happened to me, a little of that car epoxy fixed everything now it works better then ever.
