How many times has your bass failed you?

Everyday! The beautiful sound in my head gets all jammed up when I try to reproduce it!
And it's clearly the Bass. (Abigaile) ( yes her name is Abigaile, rhymes with Abba-whale? What am I talking about, what thread am I on? I , oh. Yes my bass always fails, because I fail. And no need to take 2 basses- they will equally fail, because I don't practice , Good?
Rotfl awesome name that show is the best Have you seen the toe knife?

I play mainly Double Bass. It's hard enough getting just the one in the car... even if I had two I can't imagine getting both in my vehicle.

This topic always sort of fascinates me because I seldom see drummers, trumpet, trombone, or Sax players having this conversation. If they bring a second instrument it's something completely different for solos.

I was reading some stuff about having a spare bass at gigs in case that something goes wrong with your main one, but how many times you guys have really experienced that? do you think that you really need a 2nd bass on stage (considering that you don't change your tunning)?

I have more than one bass for sure, but I never take a backup, never needed to either. How about you?

Once in over 50 years of playing bass. On my active Warwick, the lead to the battery broke while changing the Battery.

Not once. It's always battle ready. Now how many times have we failed the bass ?
This reminds me how many times I began songs in the wrong key. Bass had no fault.

However I would not like to be that guy who stopped the show because his bass is out of battery/has a broken string/jack.

Bringing two different basses is a kind of show off btw. The more difficult part is bringing stands for two basses.
