How NOT to wind strings

It doesn't look very neat but I doubt it affects anything. It seems only TB get ultra particular about these things.

Having that much extra windings, you run the risk of having the strings move or slip. In other words, your tuners aren't necessarily the only thing governing your tuning.

and because it isn't even round - there is no consistency to how it tightens the string. It's like a variable shaped cam lobe. And besides, it's just embarrassingly ugly

I wouldn't expect those windings to provide consistent tension.
