How should I title this thread?

That Mike makes some great breads:

oops, misspelled his name it is Pinera.

All y'all are crazy. Vick's does absolutely nothing but make your skin burn and your eyes water. So instead of a nasty flu, you now have a nasty flu and your skin hurts.

I think Superfreak's on the right track here: beef up on vitamin C and throw a little vodka in to make you sleep better. Or just go for broke and drink single malt all day. Obviously this method isn't applicable to nondrinkers.

Need suggestions.

I'm sick. I never get sick. Well, until now. I have a really bad cough that kept me up all last night, and a fever of almost 102. Have a gig on Friday too, which should be fun if this crap doesn't let up. Anyhow, I'm on tylenol, and cough syrup, and garlic, and oranges and tea.... and this:

Now while this may look simply like a Vicks container, what makes this thing unique is that I believe it to be about 35 years old, or older. I remember taking it from my parents house when I moved out decades ago, and being shocked at that time that it was still good, because it was so old. As it's true that I never (OK, rarely) get sick, I've used it over the years, and I'm astounded that it's still perfect! It smells as powerful as the day it was first opened, although there's just a drop left.

So I started thinking about today's marketing BS. Just bought a new Vicks. I wonder if it'll last the same amount of time? With planned obsolescence and all, is there any product left on the market that will seemingly last forever? I recently found out that raw honey is supposed to take over 200 years to go bad, so I'll add that - but mine always starts looking kinda funky after a few months.

That's all I've got. Remember please that I'm sick and need to be coddled, so don't post anything mean.

I'm so happy my wife is a nurse midwife.
My wife is a CNM as well. Good witch to have around when you need a potion...

Fever this morning. Requested a sub. No sub. Heading out now. Lots of tylenol, advil and cough medicine.

Just thought I'd post an update :). Wish me well.

Good luck! The last time I played with a fever, I don’t remember a thing about the gig but I apparently did well. I’m sure you’ll do fine but hopefully your band mates will help you through the evening.

I'm home and alive. I kinda knew that was gonna happen :).

I'd like to say it was great, but it wasn't. Sound guy treated us like we were 15. He came an hour late and the club people told us not to touch anything on stage until he got there. They added that the soundguy is a bit of a dick. As soon as he got there he said, "Everyone off the stage until I get myself set here". He did a check on the acoustic instruments, guitars and drums. No full band soundcheck and no bass. I didn't have it in me to deal with the situation. Sound on stage sucked badly, and I had the club heat blower right over my head. Thought I was going to pass out a couple of times. Asked them to shut it but they couldn't/didn't. There were a lot of other things that sucked, but I want to quit complaining already. The good news is the gig went well, and I got paid for doing one set on a stage with a backline.

The positive about all this is that I still consider these types of situations opportunities for growth. Singer wanted to tell the audience I was sick and winging in - I told him no frikken way. Despite how crappy it sounded and how I felt I wanted to still give it my all with no frowns or complaints. I pretty much succeeded. Complaining only here. Das all. Going to go watch TV till I fall asleep now.
