Funny that they mentioned the Get Up Kids. I used to run monitors for them whenever they played in Lawrence, KS. I never really liked their music, though.

I also happened to watch the South Park episode "Raisins" earlier today. That's the one where Stan turns Goth. The irony and hypocrisy of the whole "non-conformity" thing seems to apply here as well.

The Get Up Kids are one of those fundamental emo bands that have kept the genre going over the years. I'd love to be in your place and run round for them, but I digress.

It's pretty funny to make fun of emo, but let's admit... if emo didn't exist, what would we make fun of?
