It's the color difference that you notice. Any number of products can color the wood mat black and that would go 90% of the way to making it invisible. Id use a Sharpie

Look, you have at least four different threads going about these dents. Clearly you're not content with them. Either learn to accept them, find a way to repair them, or just flip the bass for something without dents. Do you really need to keep creating new threads day after day about the same topic?

There is a mesquite tree I go past some mornings that has been all but killed. Yet, it just keeps fighting through. It is marvelous.

Well, as everyone has been indicating, dents and scratches are usually merit or honour badges. However, if you are really getting OCD about it, you can do an easy touch-up (kind of what bassliner alluded to), especially since your bass is black. You can use touch-up markers often found at hardware stores and you can actually do a simply repair of dents by dripping in a bit of Krazy Glue to fill. Just a suggestion, but you really should wear it proud as there are more to come, for sure.

Finally. A sensible answer. I don't like dents either. Have you thought about bringing it to a guitar tech for a touchup? Or doing it yourself? One afternoon might do it.

People are paying good money to get those on there instruments. Consider yours a bargain.

Don't like finish flaws? Put it back in the case and under your bed....forever. Oh, and never consider buying a new RIC.
