Hi everyone, I’m about to receive my Jad Freer Capo (very excited), but I have a few questions I couldn’t find good answers for elsewhere on the interwebs.
I think the signal chain would go something like this:
Bass -> tuner -> Jad freer capo input
Capo pre send -> compressor -> envelope -> octaver -> fuzz -> capo pre return
Capo post send -> tape saturation -> chorus -> delay -> reverb -> capo post return
A few specific questions:
I figure a tuner should go before the input, but the manual says the pre send could be used as a tuner out. Seems a little counter intuitive to me that the tuner wouldn’t come before the input, but I’m not sure which would give the best results. The pre send seems to be an unprocessed signal, so I’m not sure what the difference would be. In case it matters, this is a turbo tuner.
Secondly, the compressor placement should maybe come after the capo’s preamp. And the compressor should probably come before the other effects. Would it be better to put all of the pedals in the capo’s post send/return loop, in that case?
