How To Spend $500 At Guitar Center?

I’m retired too and gear wise want for nothing other than replacing strings when needed. Have you thought of donating them to charity, a church, school, or even a garage band down the street?

I'd go with a quality set up for headphone amplification of your bass. I did this during the pandemic when my wife, daughter and I were all at home, 24/7. I could play bass at any time, day or night, with the whole bass experience and not bother a soul.

I still can play late into the evening with this rig and it has been a solid investment.

Buy a some inexpensive but decent instruments/amps from the used pile and donate it to an organization that will use them to bring the gift of music to kids. (And at least a couple packs of strings for you as a retirement present!)

I'd either get a rocket bass combo, or id use it to knock 500 bucks off a venture 212

Alright, let me think of things I often wish I had (or had another of):

Rackmount case
Power conditioner
Mic stand

Personally though, I would probably stalk the local and online used inventory for something unique and cool.
