Not a bass amp, but last year I picked up a 250 W Crown power amp (lead sled) and a pair of Kustom 12" wedgies for 100 bux. Works and sounds great. Don't care about the amp weight, it's in a heavy rack on wheels. I'll never lift it. At least not without emptying it first. Wedges looked like hell, but were easy to revive to looking nice:



Never took pics of the amp, but you can close your eyes, imagine a large blank plate in a rack, then in your minds eye add two plastic posts where the knobs were (and some scratches). Looks fine lasts a long time.

1972 Peavey Standard 260h. 130 watts of solid state American Peavey bliss. It’s missing the corners and pointer stickers on the knobs, but in good condition otherwise. Paid $150 CAD; roughly $120 US.

I’m hoping to pair it with a vintage Traynor cab for a cheap rig loosely inspired by DFA1979.

No photo, but I was at a Goodwill thrift store and I saw an old rat-fur covered 15 inch cabinet that I would have passed by, except that I could see an aluminum dust cap through the grill cloth. I thought that there might be a good speaker in the very low-end cabinet. I paid about twenty bucks for it, and when I opened it up, I found a 1960s JBL D130 speaker inside. A perfect upgrade for one of my 1960s Ampeg B15 cabinets!

I got this GK MB115 from GC used gear web site for under $250. I use it almost everyday for practice and after a year, it still works just fine. I love the fat sound of a 15" speaker. I hope to get the powered 115 extension cab soon.

I bought this Acoustic Image Clarus 2 for a couple hundred bucks. It's a great little amp, especially for upright or practice with acoustic gigs. Sometimes I wonder why I lug around the heavy duty stuff, when you can hook up a pair of 112's to this little guy and go to work.
