2017 was my slowest year by far. A rebuilding year, if you will. My 2019 schedule is beginning to fill up with gigs in four different bands.

2018 was the slowest year in the last five years or so. I'm just fine with that. 2019 is looking like it will be a slow year as well, but that could change. It's hard to predict, especially since I'm strictly a weekend warrior.
yeah solo and duo acoustic acts have totally taken over the cover scene in my area. Been well over a year since I’ve seen a cover band with an electric guitar in person. I kind like it though.

I’m filling in more and more of my schedule with these, as a duo with an acoustic player...helps that I have a decent singing voice
I kind of did that in 2018....put myself out there a bit more and got involved in a few different projects. No one group alone seems to book consistently enough, so I have to work with about three different ones to fill it out.
I can’t sing for crap but I try. I occasionally play acoustic duo gigs. I really enjoy them. Less gear to carry, I get to sit down, and For all the jokes there are about playing for exposure playing the acoustic gigs has always been a great way for me to play in front of new people.
I am booked every other weekend till July. I’m ok with that as I have just finished over four years of almost every weekend and the last two plus years I did it working a full time day job. Like some else mentioned, I won’t mind the rest and there things that need to be done around the house. Fact is I have worked most weekends for the last ten years. I’m kinda tired, but in a good way.
2019 is shaping up for me thank goodness, got bookings into May so far.
I have dates in the book up until late September. But still a lot of empty dates between now and then which hopefully will start filling up.
Just looked at the band calendar and it looks like 14 gigs between next weekend and the second weekend of April, plus a retirement/roast gig next month for a co-worker. Not a bad start to 2019. Hoping for a minimum of 50 paid gigs in 2019.
Booked up and even gigs now in this first stage of January. But yes I'm locked in for gigs and studio recording all the way into August of 2020. Blessed!
I really enjoy them as well, low volume, almost no setup/teardown and same/similar pay for a whole lot less work, Im hoping to book more of these in 2019. I have been wanting to start running my bass through a QSC K12 monitor(via a ToneHammer DI) as a stage amp, so I won't even need to bring an additional bass amp. With just acoustic guitar and bass, I think its a nice challenge to fill up the space and rhythm.
18 on the books so far. Most booking happens in Jan and Feb for the whole year... at least for me, anyways. Not bad for oldies in the very "musically dead" Pittsburgh, Pa! I think I'll hit 50 this year.
That sounds like your in a sweet spot....i'm hoping to build up to something like that.
Totally free for the year, but I had 23 gigs in 2018. A record for me. Looking forward to a busier 2019.

It looks like we have 53 booked so far for 2019. All are at least 3 hour shows while several of our summer outdoor shows are 5-6 hours.
On a few of the days, we have a 3 hour show starting at noon, then another 3 hour show somewhere else locally later that evening.

We've got 32 gigs booked for next year and 24 of them are on Thurs and Fri early afternoons. Fri and Sat night are wide open......i am hopefull for many to be filled.
