How's your 2019 schedule looking?

My main band limits itself to two gig a month for the most part, we will slip a third or fourth gig in as needed in the summer. We have 22 gigs scheduled so far for 2013, so we are almost full up. I got a call tonight from a bandleader that needs a drummer/hand percussionist, I went to talk with him and locked that in. He has one gig that is every week plus a bunch of others. The hand percussion gigs are usually during the week, so it looks like I just picked up at least another weekly gig. I already have a hand percussion gig that I do every two weeks. Adding them all up, it looks like I have about 90 gigs on the books for this year total. I like being busy.

The challenge for our band isn't getting the gigs, but it's making sure our "day jobs" don't conflict with gig dates offered.

The gig situation regionally declines every year no matter how good a band is.

January and February are really slow with only 2 dates booked each month. I booked 32 gigs for 2019 so far with more to come. 12 of those gigs are festivals.

Right now only two on the books and not until late feb/ march as our guitarist is recovering from a car accident. Working on new songs and kind of enjoying the break

Similar here, I’m getting more gigs with an acoustic duo....fewer gigs for live bands. A few summer festivals and campgrounds help during those months.

That’s great, i certainly would at least like more consistentcy in my schedule. I do have a busy day job and kids at home, but I really do love to play, hard to keep it in balance sometimes

Yeah, I typically do 100-150 gigs per year, but have to juggle 3-4 bands to do it... I also typically do a couple dozen fill in gigs per year for local bands I'm friends with - my youngest child is 26, so our situations are a bit different..

Funny you should mention that - I've been doing a couple acoustic duo gigs per month for a little while now... Although they're typically not as much fun as full band gigs, they do pay better...

We're off to a good start for 2019. Over the holidays, our drummer booked us for two gigs in January, one in February, and one in March. We generally have to book at least a month in advance due to the day job of one of our guitarists, but these worked out even with the short notice.

Well my band only plays once a month and that's fine with me
we've got gigs on Feb 1st, Feb 16th and March 9th at this stage

I played one gig in 2017, one in 2018 and from the looks of it, 2019 won't be much different.

We have a big charity event in Corona CA in March for First Responders. And we also have a gig at the world famous Whisky a Go Go in Los Angeles opening for Enuff Z Nuff. Its a good month.....
