Humbucker toggle

I am currently playing on a bass called the Esh Impact 5, It features two kent armstrong SoapBar pickups Invalid Link Removed
I'm Guessing that the coils are set up in series right now, but i would really like to be able to toggle each pickups coil-configuration between four different modes, I would like to have Series, Parallell, one coil and the other coil. This way i will be able to configure the coils setup in a lot of different ways. The bass allready features a lot of different modes, such as pickups in series to one and other(remember that the controlls do not toggle the individual coils, but the pickups them selves), parallell, or 80%neck with midboost and one other mode which i can't remember att this very moment.

My pickups have four poles on the backside, as well as something that looks like a capacitor, allthough it probably isn't since it is covered in solder and connected to the wire shielding.
Two of the poles are connected to one and other, and I'm guessing that this is to connect them in series, and the other two poles are connected to wires that in turn are connected to a four mode rotary controllunit.
What i want to do is to tap the coils and get four wires coming out of them, i then want to connect the wires to a toggler so that i can choose from the before mentioned modes. then i want to have two wires running out of the togglers so that they can be connected to the other switches just like they were before.

Does this sound possible or is it a bit dreamy?
And what switches would you use for this? Does anyone have any schematics?

on second thought i would like to have five modes on the switches, turning each pickup off would be great too, since i have a piezo underneath the bridge, and it would be great to be able to use it separately.

I've no idea about your bass, or the pickups in it, but I've experience with some of the mod(e)s you want to try.

I've tried 2 x humbuckers in series on a guitar. IMHO it wasn't very musical.

I've tried 2 x single coils in series on a bass - very nice.

Your humbuckers may be in series or in parallel - difficult to tell as both modes are humbucking. The MM pup is usuaully wired in parallel.

I currently have a humbucker wire parallel/single/series. Parallel setting is never used.

I was curious about all these things & did what you propose trying. In the end, my stuff is now wired series/single coil.
