We only run it from noon to 9pm. That's long enough to keep the fridge cold and the freezer frozen, plus it lets us sleep at night. My UPS is hooked up to the TV, and provides about 20 minutes of TV after the genny is shut down. The next-door neighbors have been helping with the gas, since they have a line going to their house as well. There are line crews in our general vicinity, we might need a transformer replaced to get power back. But as of this morning, TNMP is estimating Monday or Tuesday.

Windstorm will not cover our tree on our house, nor our fence, nor my shed's roof. I'm thinking that we'll just cancel it next year, as it is a losing proposition, and they are looking at doubling or tripling rates in Galveston County. I won't be able to afford the horrendous insurance here much longer. If my home is destroyed by a windstorm, I'll just declare bankruptcy and be done with it. They only had 2.2 billion in the pool, they are already wiped out. Not worth it anymore, since they can't cover their own butts, let alone ours.

My wife was talking to the line crew yesterday, they said our side of the street is 2-3 weeks out at this point. :rollno: The urban camping trip continues. If it keeps up much longer, I will have to convert to full solar and tell the power company to stick it. :ninja:

Insurance adjuster told us we need a whole new roof, with felt and drip edge. Also getting some attention is my living room floor, water came in around the ceiling, ran down the wall, and warped the wood under the tile, and the garage took a lot more water than I thought. He said most of the sheetrock has to come down. So I'll get a new garage ceiling and one wall, a new floor, and a new roof. The shed roof got stripped of most shingles as well, and the back fence came down, so that gets replaced, at least partially. :hmm:
