Sorry… but Dior Sauvage is HARDLY obscure. It's been in the top 5 most popular fragrances worldwide for a few years now. Plus, it smells amazing, when used in extreme moderation.

I like JD, I think he is a great actor and I have very much enjoyed and thank him for his work and so many wonderful films over the years.
But, frankly he is a terrible choice to sell cologne. The way JD looks today, he just sorta looks like he would smell really bad.
…like cigarettes, tequila, vomit and hookers.

Johnny is really a good guitarist who's good looks and acting ability made him famous and rich and now he gets to play guitar again with some of his friends . The guy you see playing guitar , is the real JD .

I don't understand this thread at all. What is with all of the judgment for someone doing something he loves? If you did a bit of research, you'd know that music was his main passion way before his acting career took off. I find it odd that a bunch of musicians, many of who only do this because they love it, would rip on someone for doing the same. Good for him to be able to play with friends and other musicians.

I've seen him sit in with Ian Hunter, and with Beck years ago. He was not exceptional, but he was competent. Beck does whatever the hell he wants, I don't think he "needs" Depp, any more than Depp needs Beck. I listened to a interview with them on Little Steven's Sirius Radio channel, they have a genuine rapport, and there was deference to Beck on Johnny's part. I can think of worse musical 'posing' on the part of other actors…Bruce Willis, Steven Segal, even Belushi/Aykroyd. As for the HV, it's just a side thing for fun, a Busman's Holliday, a chance to play favorite covers. If Depp was so miserable, why would pros like Cooper and Perry put up with him? They have their own following. It keeps people entertained, and it keeps a friend of mine, Chris(the bass player), employed.

I mean, can the dude play guitar? Yes, he actually plays. And he plays quite well if you're into that genre. Otherwise Alice Cooper wouldn't have formed a band with him. Does he do a lot of lead solo stuff? No, he leaves that to Joe Perry, who is also in that same group Cooper formed. Mostly he sticks to rhythm stuff and backing vocals. But he is good enough to share a stage with Joe Perry, Alice Cooper and Duff McKagen. So I'd say he isn't terrible.

You should probably look up "Hollywood Vampires" instead of his goofy tv commercials for some obscure cologne he's trying to sell.

Whenever I see him holding a guitar I change the channel. Should I give him a chance? It seems like he's a rich poser with a stylist. Your thoughts?

I have a drawer full of cologne samples I've torn from the upper-tier magazines over the years. Just rub 'em on...my body chemistry and overall greasiness is just enough to activate whatever scent is embedded. I only use them when the hotties visit my office and that's like...never.

I don't see what Depp is doing wrong? Who wouldn't want to tour with Jeff Beck and others if given the chance?

i saw Jeff Beck for 11th time this past fall, and yes, Depp was there. I had no expectations, but actually did enjoy Depp's appearance. It brought a new energy to an already excellent show, and it was nice to see so many women for once at a Jeff Beck show.
