I admit it. I'm prejudiced (against Johnny Depp.)

Whenever I see him holding a guitar I change the channel. Should I give him a chance? It seems like he's a rich poser with a stylist. Your thoughts?

Dude, if being a rich poser and a weirdo means you'll never be a fan, then the VAST MAJORITY of rockers from the 70s, 80s, and 90s just got scratched off of your list. (Most from the 60s are dead or retired so they don't count.)

And I say that as a big fan of 70s and 80s rock. (90s rock sucks.)

I don't give a CRAP how weird you are, how you dress, what you have going in in your personal life, or even what your political views are. If I like your songs, I'm a fan.

David Bowie was a total weirdo. Fashion was as important to him as music was. He was also a musical genius. I could list people like him all day.

I'll check out Hollywood Vampires. Whether or not I like the music will have nothing whatsoever to do with ANY of the band members personally. (I am a huge Duff fan. Totally underrated rock bass player.... MAD skills with a pick.)

Well it's okay. Your prejudice won't make him not get a job, arrested or shot.

He's always played. He is not going to start a youtube instructional video soon. And he is staying in his lane which make him a good band member. The family do love Johnny even before Disney made him rich but not his music. I think he is doing Alice and Jeff Beck a favor.

I may have to put my put down for MeToo and Pedo scandals though.

He was appearing with Jeff Beck in my area this fall. From what I heard it was more sad than good. You wouldn't think that Beck would need the publicity stunt, which is what it likely is.

He was at a local venue by us and we were playing within the same building in one of the smaller rooms on the same night.
The backstage area was overflowing with celebrity stalkers and autograph selfie seekers.
It was a fun night for us since we picked up many of those who attended the Jeff Beck / J Depp concert. I got mixed reactions from the few people I spoke to. Some said it was great.. some saw it as a novelty act.

Out of curiousity I checked out a coupla his live videos. Couldnt find fault with his performance or presence.
I didn't see no virtuosity. Just another guy having fun playing rock n roll. I've seen poor talent behaving with worse humility. Did his acting career gain him entry to an exclusive club? I'm sure it did, but that's life.
