I allways come back to MXR. What is wrong with me !

All pedals were noisy in the 70's. That was the days before decent bypassing. Back then, the signal got routed through the pedal circuitry whether it was on or not. But I thought even back then, MXR made some good ones, except for the noise.
Anyway, I relate to what the dude is talking about. True, nobody really cares what kind of pedals you use, but now and then I would see musicians who used all the same brand of pedals, and I always thought it was weird. I call them "endorsement boards"like the musician was trying just a little too hard to prove his/her loyalty to one brand, especially if they had pedals on their boards that everyone knew sucked. But now that I'm older and slightly wiser, I really don't care as long as they're happy with them, even if they use pedals I don't like.
I dunno - I really liked the old EHX pedals (which were also less expensive) but really, I only used a phase for years and years (yes, the old SmallStone I bought new for $15!!!)

Funny you mention the old Small Stone...in 1994 when I abruptly gave up pedals due to tone suck, I dug them out about 10 years later, and the first one I tried was the old Small Stone I used to have. That's when I discovered that it was the culprit for my rig sounding like it had a blanket over it in 94. Loved the sound, hated the tone suck. Fortunately, the newer smaller one isn't plagued by such issues.

LOL! Nah, too many different brands on there. But you definitely seem to have some favorites and a lot of them.

I guess i have to take what I said earlier back; I'm looking at your pedalboards, and a lot of them are pretty cool.
Yeahh, i also like MXR bass specific pedals but i only have 2 out of 7 left on my board: MXR Bass Compressor & MXR Mini Phase 95. My plan was to setup a MXR only board but for my taste i had no luck with all their dirt pedals (sold Bass Fuzz Deluxe, Overdrive & Distortion). Out of those 3 dirt pedals i liked the Distortion best. I also sold my Bass Envelope Filter, this pedal was almost perfect for me but there were some strange "spikes" sometimes which i could not get rid of. The Carbon Copy delay is/was also a great pedal and i gave it to my guitarist because i had no more use for it.
What i love about MXR pedals: small size, great design, great build quality and that they listen to us bass players.
Anyway, i´m still excited to see what MXR Bass department develops next ...

I absolutely love my Source Audio PRO Envelope Filter, you can save up to 6 settings and with distortion it can be used almost as a synth. I want to get hot hands for it but don't know if I would actually use it to write or not lol.
Same here. MXR makes great stuff and has a soft spot for bassists. How can they not be loved ?
