Double Bass I am in a bass pickle.

Not too hard to fix. You'll need a small screwdriver. The most difficult part is not damaging the small screws that hold the tuner plate to the scroll box. And take care not to loose any.

Let down the E and A and remove the plate. Take the plate and the broken off paddle to a jewelry repair shop. It will cost around $20 to solder, a bit more if your missing the paddle and they have to cut a new one.

Reinstallation is self explanatory.
