I AM SOOOOOO @#$%^&* PISSED

Yup. That hard reality, and it sucks to be saying this, and I apologise, but I've had too many friends do the same exact thing. One friend even went so far as to leave his bass in the trunk of a rental car and return the car. Another had a skunkworks SVT stolen out of his car. My guitar player at least got a brick in exchange for his vintage Fender lead I.

Lesson? Take the extra 5 seconds to maneuver one more car door open. It's never too late in the evenning / morning if the thing means that much to you.

This may be a long shot, but any chance that there are any surveillance cameras in your area at a store, resturant, stop lights, etc that may have picked up this act just by chance?

Hope you get it back, hope you have your sn# for insurance as well.

Sorry for your loss. That's a double whammy; a broken window and a sweet bass. I hope you get it back soon.

I don't know about you, but that was the biggest PITA part about my experience with trading gear for rocks. Mine happened on a saturday night into sunday and the glass guys couldn't fix the window until tuesday. Driving around for a few days with a plastic window was a pain.

On the plus side, some times these things work out. That's a very unique bass, and unless the thief is a musician, they probably have no idea how rare/valuable it is so they're likely to take whatever a pawn shop will give them. Good work being proactive. In my case I ended up getting stuff back through guitar center who had the guys ID. I actually got a summons on friday to go to court wednesday to provide evidence in the case.

Best of luck to you.

Thats terrible Jady,it could have been worse though, you could be in the car at the moment of theft.Glad that didn't happen.

Also, there was a stolen Sadowsky case remember?Your bass looks more identifiable then the blue(?) Sadowsky.Keep your head up,wish for luck.;)

Nah, no such luck. Unfortunately I have no renters insurance and my car insurance is collision only :hmm:

It could have been worse ... they could have left a banjo inside your Jeep.

So true.......

Hope they don't spray paint it to disguise it.

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: Oh God I am feeling feint!!!!!!

Hate to hear it. It has happened to me as well. Be sure to check out this web site. You can type in a description and it will check ALL craigslist listings. So even if the guy has a partner on the east coast you can find out.

Cool thanks, I am on it!!!!

There are groups of criminals who stake out live music gigs and watch to see where the gear goes. They then follow the vehicles containing the gear to their destinations and wait to see if they are left in their vehicles. You and your bandmates might even stop for a bite to eat at a diner after the gig, and if the vehicle is not in an obvious location where you can keep an eye on it from inside the restaurant, the thieves will break in and steal your gear.

Sucks Jady. I had an assload of gear stolen the day after my birthday in September, and a bass stolen awhile before that. This really bites the big one.

If you wanna borrow a nice P-bass, let me know, and I'll send her your way until you either get your Stammie back or get a new bass.
