I AM THE DEVIL AND I KILLED JESUS!

This may bump the CPS guy as my favorite annoying/odd phone call.

A year & a half ago, I moved into a new apartment. Within a week of getting my phone turned on, I got a phone call from "Mike" at CPS.
Now, given that I had just finished off a nasty child custody fight, this bozo initially had my full attention (and had me a little worried!).

In a very gruff and authoritative voice, he said he had to confirm some information regarding my case file. Is your last name spelled ******? Yes....
You just moved to the following address? Yes...what's this about?
We'll get to that in a minute, Mr. ******. Now, your old address was.....? Yes. Tell me what this is about.
Our records show you involved in a custody case regarding your child, correct? What is this about?
I told you, I'm with CPS. Yeah, but what is this about?

I work for CPS... Consumer Periodical Services! Would you be interested in our magazine subscription services? OH! Did yout think I meant that CPS? Heh heh. I get that all the time; sorry about that!

This is the reason why I don't answer my phone if someone calls it that I don't know. I don't have any reason for someone who's number I don't have to call me anyway.

Plus I kinda of have a phobia of speaking on the phone. I get really nervous and edgey when people call me and I always make sure that the call is short... It's weird

One time when my friend Vlad called I picked up and said

"Blockbuster video how may I help you?"

"Uhhh, hi? This is blockbuster?"

"Yeah this is blockbuster"

etc etc.

We strung him along for MONTHS, he would call back 3-4 times EVERY TIME HE WANTED TO CALL US to get through to our apartment. I would have my girlfriend answer as blockbuster a few times then he'd call back a third time and I'd answer. He'd ask if my girl was over and I'd say "no? she's at work, why?" haha. Sometimes he would get really pissed off, we just said "it's probably a crossed wire or something" and shrugged it off. My roommate and I were always on the ball and would turn off the tv and any music if he called, then crank it back up when we would really answer.
