I cannot find coloured flatwound strings

It's not really better or worse. Flats or tapes will get you more of a thumpy, "oomphy" fretless tone. More so than roundwounds.

You could put up a wanted ad to buy a set of dead colored rounds.

Or just buy rounds in whatever color you want and turn the treble knob all the way down!

I am looking for a set of normal tension bass strings which are coloured or gold plated.

The problem I'm facing is that I can only find roundwound versions and I am looking for a set of flatwounds for tonal reasons.
Does anhybody know where I can find this kind of strings?
