Decision made, thanks for all your help and opinions!

So, I thought I'd have some fun with a poll.

I need to sell a bass, as I'm suddenly badly in need of some cash. So, if you were me, which one would you sell and why?

Please don't say you would sell them all, or keep them all, or tell me that any of them are cack or whatever!

Options are:

1. Precision with custom Fender licensed fretless maple neck

2. Squier CV 50's Precision

3. Ibanez SR505M

4. Spector NS-2A

I also have a Warwick Corvette $$ and a Spector Euro which are definitely not being sold. Ever. :D

I'll just say that's a very nice collection and I can see how it would be a hard decision.

Logic: You have two Spectors, only one fretless and only one 5 string. That narrows it down to the Squier or Spector. But I'd have trouble deciding based totally on logic.

Me personally, I'd never use a fretless so that would be my quick choice. But for you, I'd suggest selling the one you will regret the least. Picture yourself a year down the road. You don't want to be saying, "I wish I hadn't sold that____bass." Choose the one that you won't have regrets about.

Yeah, I've been in a similar situation many times. My philosophy has always been:

1. Have an honest "discussion" with yourself. Determine which one you like the least. If they're all equal in your mind, which one would make you the LEAST likely to second-guess yourself if you sell it.

2. Sell that one and try not to beat yourself up after you make your decision... ;)

I would keep the Spectors as well. Also agreed on the 5/fl part. If you enjoy playing a 5 string or FL, then don't sell those basses. SR505 is also a really good 5 string, I wouldn't sell it unless you are going to buy a better 5er. I would part with the squier, can also be easier to replace then the 505.

The Fretless has some good MOJO going for it - KEEP IT

The CV looks nice but those necks are like the fat end of a Louisville Slugger all the way down - SELL IT

The Ibanez are a dime a but a 5'er is a good thing to have in the arsenal - 50/50 on that. Keep - Sell, Flip a coin.

The Spector is just too pretty to get rid of. What were you thinking?!?!?

If it were me, the question I'd start with is "how much money do I need to get, and which of these basses will (or won't) do it?"

If you need $500, selling the Squier isn't going to do it, unless you sell a few of them. If any of them will get you the money you need, then sell the one you like least.
