[I consider it CLOSED] FEA DE-CL problems: insist or resign? .......

I realize this thread is several months old but I just now saw it, and I want to inform the OP that he was mistaken in several ways.

Mainly, Frank at FEA is one of the most serious and dedicated people in the business. If his product didn't suit you, fine--that's normal. If he was unable to explain WHY it didn't suit you, or verify what about it didn't suit you, that's normal too--only you can answer those things. His inability to read your mind, hear with your ears, or do more to satisfy you than happily offer a refund, is not a reflection on him as a designer, maker, or business person.

I feel you pain as well. First be careful who people push on us as experts. Especially when you want limiter not a compressor. Anyone who tells there the same thing with a limiter as an extreme should be dismissed from your expert list. Bass players really do get gipped in the limiter category. But not much in the stomp box world is relly going to be fast enough. A Purple MC-77 is not always fast and current technology it is the under 2500 gold standard as reference. But you wont get it in stomp box. So maybe someday technology will get there. But for right now the world isnt making we are asking for unfortunately for under $7k but I dont have Ear 600 money either. Sure stuff can squish but that isnt exactly smoothly brickwall nicely.

I have a question regarding DE-CL. Is it possible to use the Limiter footswitch as a boost? In other words, is it possible to set the limiter gain control so that when I activate the limiter footswitch, the volume will be increased? Thank you.
Yes, each side has different gain controls so the limiter could tots work as a boost. The compressor and limiter mode both configure the same optical gain cell, just with different parameters. The Warmth control works really well, it def sets it apart from other compressors...
