I have a set of JF344’s and nowhere on the packaging does it say anything about titanium...

the inner envelopes say “nickel flat wound roundcore”

What’s up with that?

TI user here as well, except I use the round wound. Can't beat them although I have been experimenting with Richard Cocco strings, for the price they are pretty darn good. Not sure about their flats, maybe worth a try.

thanks for the follow-up. i've had TI Flats on a few other basses, with mixed results. I am still on the fence, but based on your description, i think they may be just what i'm looking for.

They are fussy about proper setup. Please give them a second look.

Yea, TI Jazz flatwound strings were already on my 2014 lightweight ash MIJ P-bass when I bought it. Yes, they are that good. Low tension too therefore arthritic friendly. They sound punchy for flats but hide novice finger scrape sounds. I hope they really do last almost forever like they say.

They sound great, last forever, but more than anything I really like they way the feel. They are the only flat I use, and I've tried a ton of them.

I have tried pretty much every brand of flat wound string on my Pbasses. Granted some were definitely better than others. I could never justify paying $70+ dollars on a set of strings when it came to TI flats. But, when I bought my Pino CS pbass a few months ago, I finally understood. I immediately went online and bought another set for my 63 pbass. These strings are unreal. Slinky and buttery with tone for days. Really exceptional. I can never dream of buying another brand of flats. The second best would be DR legends but TIs have really changed the game for me. Anyone out there agree?

My story is almost identical. I tried a bunch of flats over the years and hated them all. A couple years ago, my girl bought me a 59 custom shop that came with TI’s and it was instant love. Now, all 15 of my Basses are strung with TI’s, including my 5 strings and acoustic bass.

I don't mind the feel of the tension of La Bellas but they seem a tad sticky to me or at least they are more grippy than the TIs on both the short scale and long scale. I just don't prefer them under most circumstances. But they do the motown Jamerson thump perfectly.

I used to have a camera where all the metal parts (quite a substantial amount, too), even the screws, were made from Ti.

All the wood is ebony.

I've tried them several times, liked them best on a Renaissance fretless. Love the way they sound on my Fender Players P Bass with Geezers but the tension is too low for me. I'm primarily an upright bass player and the contrast is too extreme. They feel like rubber bands in my hands. My plan b strings with more tension but equally nice feel and good tone are Pyramid flats. I still have the TI's on the P cause I don't play it much but they'll come off soon, to be replaced by Pyramids.

I feel the same man. I only have 4 basses: a 63 P, a 72 P, a Pino P, and a fretless stingray. All now have TIs and I’m strongly considering putting them on my 72 which was always my round wound Rock n roll Pbass. Never thought I would put flats on that bass but TIs are so sick I’m really close to having them on that last hold-out too

Ti's are unique. They're supple and have a sort of 'boing' feel when you pluck them. Fat, middy sound, very clear note definition.
