i hate people

It's easy to understand your frustration. Some bosses don't have a clue when it comes to positive reinforcement. That said, I suggest not rage quitting. If you rant on him when you leave, that's what he will remember, not that it was his pathetic management skills that led to you departure. Then he will talk all about what a jerk you are to anyone that asks about you. Keep a cool tool and let him know in a professional way that you feel underappreciated. Then collect your pay and split.

Im writing this half asleep and angry as all get out.

I bust my @** for my current job. I have been for almost two years. And all my boss can do is harp on the things i miss or forget. Mind you i do almost everything for this f****** place and then some. Im employed as a dishwasher/cook/danquet worker and ive installed floors in this place myself and fixed everything that breaks. And its a real kick in the teeth when my boss can do is talk down about what i do and give me ****. I have never been more happy to leave a job than i am now. I have my dream job calling my name and im leaving the state for it soon. I came inches away from telling my boss flat out "im done. I want my pay in full right now". Ive never felt so disrespected in my life. I know some of you are going to say just finish up my two weeks and be done but it is oh so tempting to tell my boss to go sit on a rail spike. Ive done so much for that place and i catch ****

Rant over

such is life. Get over it. Flush toilet.

You have no part in this? Generally when things go wrong, I look honestly for how I might have acted that played a part.

This could be of course an exception, but for the most part, people who do a good job like you are describing...well it usually doesn't come to this.

A few of my friends own businesses...their biggest complaint by far is their employees. Honest, hard working employees don't grow on trees, and 99% of the ones that were fired deserved it.

I feel you, man. My bosses are honestly bad people. But, I'd have to kill someone to get fired from that place and even then I might still have my job. They are complete pieces of **** but they know what I do and what would happened if I left. They also know that I know what goes on in there. I could write a business manual on how not to run a business from my time there. 5 years of this crap but the checks never bounce.

Finish your time like a responsible person and bolt. I would say to rip him a new one when your fortnight is up but you might need a reference from him later on. You never know. Make your decision when you are not mad. Anger is a terrible emotion to make choices with. Good luck, amigo.

So in light of his fire by text. I procceeded to send him a text outlining the BS things hes done to me. And all he seemed to do is get butt hurt. I told him ive never wanted to do anything but please him as an employee and thay the pay was just a bonus. Im a really nice guy like that and his response was to call me rude. I know one of you said there must be more to this. And honestly there isnt. This guy could be in a good mood when i come into work and all is well or a complete crap mood and he hates everyone and takes it out on his workers. Ive been at this place nearing two years now and hes been like this the whole time. And even the head chef said he was being a d*** to him. Not my words. Ive just never felt so insulted and almost betrayed by someone. He used to blame me for not putting his tools back when i distinctly remember always putting them back. But i got blamed for it along with a list of other things.

Im sorry if im a little strong on this. It just totally rubs me the wrong way and i am honestly a little hurt. But im turing my back too it, collecting the three weeks of pay he owes me, and never talking to him again. He can miss me when im gone. He will never find a better handyman that actually cares about their job.

It's easy for people to say "take the high road."

I'd tell the boss to take a hike (although in more colorful language) and that will probably be your proudest moment of all your life... as it should be. Too many people let themselves be a doormat and a-holes like that take advantage... and pile on, and on, and on.

I'm not surprised to see the pattern continued like this. Learn from the experience and stand up for yourself in the future.

Good luck tackling this big move. I've done it and it's stressful and requires a period of adjustment afterwards but it'll be enjoyable later.

If cussing out your former employer is the proudest moment in your life then I think that there are not many things in your life to feel proud of.

Suggest he play the skin flute :)

Sounds like the guy might be stressed out and taking it out on his employees. Could be business, could be personal. Either way he has no right to treat you that way and you owe him NOTHING. Walk. He'll need you more than you need him. Believe me.

*edit- I hate people too.....:)

Walking without saying anything holds more satisfaction. If coworkers hear you lose it on him, it can be embarrassing later. In the middle of a shift is cool. Just put what you are doing down and silently walk out. He'll be left scrambling and he may learn something. If you beef at him he just gets ammo to make you look like a loser.
