As a professional bassist, and a professional FOH, monitor, and recording engineer, I would have to say: HAHAHAHA
Wanted to wait till I got permission to say. I just got it...

So once I get this, I won't care if the soundman wants to tie a string to a dixie cup to get my bass signal!
I know I don't like this Peavey/Carvin thing we are currently using. Mud, Mud, Mud.
I seem to remember saying a while ago in another thread that a programmable VT would be my idea of perfection. I always like the idea of the programmable BDDI but the lack of mid control always put me off.
And I've been looking into multi-channel drive pedals, I think I shall start saving my pennies as it looks to be exactly what the doctor ordered.

Not to change the topic too much (still related) but my TC electronic RH 450 head has three presets and all variables (eq, gain, compressor, and tube tone, which is similar to the drive control on a sansamp) can be preset and accessible via a 4 button footswitch (4th button is mute). This amp also has a terrific direct out that can be post/pre. So for me, the Tech 21 would be superfluous. Also, used a Sansamp for a few years that really suited a couple of my basses, but I have found that I don't like it with my Sadowsky setup. To my ears it has a kind of pinched tone I am not crazy about. I have never tried the VT though and maybe I would like that better. In my quest to have less gear to haul around, the TC head has solved a lot of my problems. (Tube Tone sounds amazing BTW, can go from adding harmonics and grit to your tone, to full on fuzz.)
when the sound man gets paid to ruin my sound. i usually end up ruining some PA gear. i usually say something through the PA about it, then if it continues, i may take a mic and throw bery hard on the floor. see how he likes that one. but i have never ran into a sound man who didnt want to mic and also use a direct line.
if i cannot ruin any gear, i try to at least ruin his day

Possibly so; we're kind of student drivers right now. Need more road time. It's not the car...it's the driver.
"mmm, yeah, i'm going to go ahead and get you to put this IMP di in line before that weird effects pedal thing so i can get a nice clean bass sound from you. great, thanks!"btw, once i get this thing, i will never pile on in one of these threads again. hey, they only want me di'd, i'll be happy to oblige. life's too short to get all worked up anymore.
i'll retire right there on the spot!!!"mmm, yeah, i'm going to go ahead and get you to put this IMP di in line before that weird effects pedal thing so i can get a nice clean bass sound from you. great, thanks!"
