Go to Radio Shack and get a battery tester (all you sarcastic people, too...) It is a great device to throw in the gig bag, and test your batteries before putting them in your bass....., also, it eliminates the question of how strong the battery is.

Or....you could shove a potato in the battery compartment....that should get you through a gig.

There's really only one way to solve your problem. You need to head down to your local store, get yourself a banana, toilet cleaner and a pair of socks. It's really quite simple from there.

I have always tested 9 volt batteries by touching the terminals to my tongue. If I do not receive a nice zap, the battery is dead. I'm being totally serious on this.

Its very simple to tellhim to change the battery but the issue is not changing the battery. The issue is getting the battery to admit that it has a problem. From there, the battery can make certain lifestyle changes that will allow it to gradually change over time. I took abnormal psychology in college...I know what I"m talking about here people.

Changing the battery is just a temporary solution.

I recommend buying a gas powered generator -- Honda makes nice ones -- and running a direct connection from the generator to the battery leads. No more worrying about battery replacements!

after much, much research considering this problem, and after consultation with some of the world's foremost physicists and even a retired NASA engineer, i have to say that we all came to the conclusion that maybe, maybe the battery needs to be replaced.
