I just dropped my $5000 rig down the stairs.

About 25 years ago, I was playing with a guy that had a Hammond C3, we loaded it into the back of my buddy's 74 Datsun pickup. While turning a corner a bit too fast, the C3 came out of the back of the truck and went tumbling down the street end over end like a football. It finally landed on it's top, slid about 30 feet and plowed into the side of a brand new 280Z, caving in the driver's door. Panicked as we were, and being that nobody saw what happened, we hoisted the thing back into the truck and split. It only had some gouges on the top and a few splinters missing out of the legs. We got it to the gig, refilled the tone generator with oil, and it played perfect...Stupid kids we were...

"I think I'm going to blame the cat."

I can no longer blame the kids or the dog for stupid stuff. The kids are older now and are more responsible than their dad, and the dog can do no wrong according to the wife. I've learned to accept my place in the pecking order.
