You can buy casters with built-in wheel locks. Your story reminded me of the time, long ago when I caused a giant 1500lb floor cleaning machine go (2 stories) down a concrete staircase. I can still hear the sound of this projectile cartweeling downward and crashing though a thick concrete wall, leaving a trail of twisted metal and battery acid in its wake. It just shook the whole building like a earthquake. It took like 10 poeple to drag the crushed carcass back up the stairs.

It wasn't the cat. It was the Gnomes. They live inside your amp. They're in charge of the "ohms". They're mathematical genuises but quite clumsy.
