I just pulled the trigger on an XR18

We get Tourcat from Rapco. It's still Cat5 (actually Cat6 for the Yamaha CL5s, but it comes in Cat5, too. Won't hurt to move up to Cat6) and doesn't need to be kinked or stomped on with cowboy boots or stilettos, but it's much more robust for exposed runs. Rolls up nicely, too.

Yeah, and absolutely not because of any deficiency with the XR18. I'd just like a couple of more auxes and inputs. (XR24, anyone? Yeah, that's getting outta hand with the line-up)

i just discovered that the presonus RM16AI 16ch rackmount dealie has eight aux outs plus the LR out plus a mono out!

this looks like one of the few 16ch digital rack mixers that can do 4 stereo in-ear mixes, making it a pretty cool option for DIY band sound.

Just bought an SD8 for my X32 rack and two ethercon cables to go with it. (One as a spare.) Don't cheap out on cables unless you like pops and drop outs. It took quite a bit of research to find out what I should get. Unless you are over 200ft, get stranded cable. (less common). Also it should be shielded. "Tactical", (god I hate that word), cable seems to be the way to go. Cable one is Elite Core Tactical CAT5E. The other one is this one: Invalid Link Removed. I considered the X-AIR 18 but felt that the X-32 rack had so much more to offer. Definitely a steeper learning curve, but a very impressive set of features. (8 DCAs, 6 Matrix busses, etc.)
