I Like J Basses Better Than P Basses

Used to be here. And I love my Jazz basses. But I finally noticed the whole thing about a P bass sitting in the mix. In particular, I have found the P Bass is better when there is more than 1 guitar. IME only.

But I used to hate P's and would only play J's.

Still around, 5 string Jazz bass clones, very nice, but clones none the less....

I Like Them Both! But, I play my P-Basses More Than My Jazz Basses!
And, I own more P-Basses Than Jazz Basses… So… I like them both!

You're wrong,
Just kidding. I own two Jazz, one P, and one P/J.

I actually play the P/J the most, followed by the two Jazz basses, and the P last.
The funny thing is when I do play the P it amazes me at how good it sounds / feels, and that I don't play it more often. Then I go back to the P/J or the two Jazz basses.

I don't think there really is a right or wrong answer for me. I just grab 'em and play 'em based on my mood I guess. I played one of the Jazzes today for 4 hours, with a brand new, and my 1st ever set, of D'Addario half rounds. I really like those strings, so I see me playing that particular Jazz for a little while before swapping back over to one of the other basses.

I bought my first bass recently a P/J Bass - which I love - but I guess I should also eventually buy a Jazz bass - It's the only way to be sure
