Oh man... Heinz 57 is the lifeblood. I've loved that stuff since I was a kid. A nice medium well steak slathered in some 57? Baby, that's nirvana, bar none.

BLAAAAACHffff....Ruin perfectly good cow carcass with dressed up catsup. Serve it medium raw with a side of salt to mix in with the blood to bring out the natural flavor!

I agree. I fix awesome steak over real charcoal, and then my wife and kids have the nerve to desecrate it with A1 or Heinz 57.

Meat rocks. I have no idea how vegitarians do it. I could never give up meat.
Me either. The guitarist in my band is a vegetarian. The singer is vegan. He eats lettuce sandwiches. I've had tofu and all the stuff he eats before and It's not bad, but I couldnt go too long without any meat (or milk/cheese for that matter). Those dudes are far stronger than I could ever hope to be.

I'm a pretty indiscriminate omnivore now, but I was vegetarian (ovo/lacto) for several years, and on the other extreme have tried the Atkins thing.

If I had to choose between a vegetarian and Atkins lifestyle, I'd be a vegetarian, no questions.

Th funny thing about the atkin diet: you're supposed to decrease your carb intake down to like 30/40 a day. Do you know how little you can eat if you actually stick to said diet? I'm pretty sure it's not the carbs, it's that you're not eating as much.

But, hell, don't tell them that.

Guys I have a tip for you.

You know those gigs you do occasionally where the band gets fed the same mass-produced chicken/beef meal that all the other guests at the function get. And it's always crap because they just cooked 300+ steakes, all without TLC, and they started the day before to get them all done on time. And it takes them so long to serve everybody that it's cold by the time it arrives.

I always tell them I'm a vegetarian. You get a meal cooked for 1-10 people that arives at your table a minute after it's been cooked! No meat but a better meal over all.

The same thing applies with meals served on aeroplanes......

Petebass, the top statement cracked me up. :D

The bottom statement is a very good idea!
