I love meat.

If we weren't supposed to eat animals, they wouldn't taste like meat :D

I've had the Ruby Tuesday Colassal burger. Two plates of salad bar, a bowl of soup, and a 1lb burger. I couldn't move, but it was gooooooood.

Ever been to Fudruckers? Their burgers go 1/4lb, 1/3lb, 1/2lb, 2/3lb, and 1lb. The best burger I've ever had was a 1lb Bacon Mushroom Swiss burger from that place. Pure ecstacy. I'm drooling just thinking of it...

[Thinks of the Bennigan's ribs I had for lunch yesterday] [Drools] Ohhh yeeeeaaaaahhh...

Anybody else always seem to maximize the variety of meats you eat as well as quantity? For example, every time I go to Wendy's, I get a couple Jr. Bacon Cheeseburgers and some chicken nuggets (love the 99 cent menu!); I didn't even notice until a girl pointed out that I was eating three different animals :D Those newish Pizza Hut commercials are tempting too, the ones that talk about "that's a lot of toppings!" regarding the six-meat Meat Lovers pizza...

Okay, time for [my unfortunately meatless] breakfast!

Man, I did a recipe Sunday that came out awesome.

I had a half of leg of lamb deboned and marinated it for 3 hours in Indian Barbeque, which is basically a medium curry blend.

Then I fired up the grill to clean and seared both sides. I turned one side of the grill down, where I finished the meat, put in a thermometer, closed the cover and ran it up to 140F, turning every few minutes.

The curry had seared into a spicy crust, and the lamb was juicy and awesome. Don't overcook!
Serve with curry rice or cajun homefries!!

Don't forget the hot sauce for that extra lift
if you like that.

I make my own, with 1/2 Redhot, 1/4 Teryaki and
1/4 Balsamic + some beef base.

Let's eat!

MMMMmmmmm.... meat!

We had some friends over this weekend and the ladies sent the men to the store to get things for dinner - When we got back my wife was almost disappointed that we had forgotten to pick out something for desert. I just explained that the New Yorks were for dinner and the Tri Tips were for dessert. It made perfect sense to us guys. It was a lot of meat and it was good! I love cooking steaks at home, over the holidays we had some Filet Mignons from one of these mail order companies that ships frozen steaks (Oklahoma steak co.?) - those babies cooked to your own personal definition of perfection were to die for! And I would never order two filet mignons in a restaurant, but at home - let the gluttony begin!

...and Petebass - yes, many of us Americans are addicted to steak. Personally, I'm okay with that. ...and FWIW - I fear no mad cows!

Hell yeah.. Carnivores unite !

Someone mentioned the " holy grail " ?? :D

You should do much better on the price if you
go to a meat distributor and ask for
8 and up peeled tenders [side muscle off ]
aka Pizmos. Easy to cut, just slice'em across.

The little meat guys, if they ask you for what account, just say cash. The boss likes to see a little cash come in the door, it gets delivered to his office for his personal use, hehe.

Costco or Sam's has them too, the grade of trimming is sometimes not as good. Stick with
the restaurant grade stuff if you can.

In mail order you pay way too much. For the same
product.

Also, on the NY strips, ask for a 0 by 1 NY
strip. The supermarket cut is 3 by 2 , which refers to the tail at the bottom of the strip, which has a small tip, and a lot of fat. So the 0 by 1 has the tail mostly trimmed off.

I cut that straight across, and usually get 13 steaks between 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inches thick. The slab is usually 50-70 dollars, depending on weight, and where beef prices are right now.
They had been at an all time high, but have been declining because of lost export demand.

Shelf life UNOPENED in the bag it comes in can be up to thirty days, refrigerated in a good cooler.
I keep mine in my beer cooler fridge which I keep at 34'F. Once cut, I set aside what I need for the next few days in the fridge, the balance I wrap in individually plastic wrap, pack in freezer bags, and label and date. That way I can take out as many steaks as I need.

Can't play well unless you eat right!

If you really like meat, don't be afraid to learn how to cut your own and save some money!

I cut up dead animals 5 days a week and i am yet to get sick of eating it. I tried to eat the "Big Texan" at the Big Texan steak ranch when i was in Amarillo. 72oz's of Texas top Sirloin. Came with a salad, Baked Potato, Prawn Cocktail and a Breadroll. If you finished it you got it for nothing. I came really close but the strategy i used was all wrong. I will return one day and eat it.

I go to BK and get a Chicken Sandwich combo with bacon, and a double cheeseburger combo.

*THAT* is pure ecstasy. BK *IS* the place to be.
