I love playing live

My band just played its first show since March with a new singer and all new material. I didn't realize how much I missed it until I got up there. We killed, we sounded great, played great, really right, good crowd, good pay. I don't see how people don't want to do this. Just wanted to share. Now it's time to untangle cables and take a shower and go to bed.
Long live live bands.

I was supposed to run sound last night. Friday around midnight the bass player/BL texts me and says he'll have to cancel because he can't get off work. I half jokingly said send me a list and I'll sit in for you. I didn't hear anything for close to an hour and figured that was the end of it. But an hour later he texted me again and said he talked to the other guys and I was on. I had never practiced or played with any of these guys except for a short lived side project I did with the guitarist a few years ago. Well, we went on, they threw titles and song keys at me and it was a fun ride. There were a few flub ups, but we never crashed and burned. Crowd responded, bar was happy, it was great. It's been about 4.5 years since I've played a full night with a band. It was like going 4 years without getting l@id. It was great to do it again!

Here's one of our band playing a nice small (venue) live gig! We are an all originals band and played this show 2ish months ago. Hopefully we don't fall into the mediocre category but that's for you to decide :p

Um, out-of-tune guitars, singer singing flat, and meandering tempo drummer would put that video clip more in the "mediocre" than "sounds great" category.
