I Need A Mini Rig..

Well i decided on a cab, i went to guitar center today and they really didn't have anything in my price range. So the guy who i usually deals with asks me what i'm looking for i told him either a 2x10 or 2x12 and told him i only want to spend a max of 400. So he takes this mesa boogie 2x10 powerhouse and rips of the tag that said 599 and tells me 400 right?

So i ended up with a Mesa Boogie Powerhouse 2x10 8 Ohm. I believe it's the previous model to the newest one (no speakon, crossover or horn protection) but it does have the High Attenuator.

If I were to do a mini rig it would be a Schroeder 12+ Light and Eden WTX-260. Under 30 pounds and could definitely keep up with things much larger. :D

Oh yeah and I've had my relatively-mini rig for about a year now, Schroeder 1212 and ThunderFunk 420, scored for a bit over 4 figures thanks to the used market. Love it.

I see no reason why you should get rid of you GK head. They are great heads and sound great. However, get it out of that huge rack. Also, 2x112 cabs are very portable and are plenty loud. GK makes a good neo 112 cab that you could buy to match your head. I bet that would sound great!

This seems like the solution to me.

SAVE THE HEAD
IF YOU LIKE THE SOUND OF 12'S LOOK FOR SOME USE AVATARS(500 WATT)
I AM USING THE SAME HEAD WITH AN AVATAR SB112(4 OHM)
THIS RIG FITS IN THE BACK SEAT OF MY HYUNDAI, AND IS
LOUD ENOUGH FOR ALL THE GIGS I'M DOING.
YOU CAN ALSO GO WITH 2 8 OHM CABS

GOOD LUCK!!

cool. did you decide to keep the gk? it's a great amp. seriously, if you keep it, get it out of that huge rack... it looks so lonesome in there :p

how do the mesa and gk sound together?

Yes i decided to keep the GK, i sold the rack and power conditioner today through craigslist and got 80 for the set (which isn't bad seeing as the grundorf was missing a cover)

I played my GK through the Mesa at GC it was very loud and punchy got really good tone overall. It's on layaway right now i'm waiting for the gentlemen that called me about my Eden to come get it on Saturday (older fellow wants the nice lightweight Eden)

So here is picture one of step 1: Getting rid of the rack...and cleaning my room.
