Here's some inspiration to practice;
1) We don't want to hear a Claypool clone, so figure out how to differentiate your style/sound from his.
2) The DB is only gonna put out what you put into it, so keep plucking.
3) If you think you are better than all the other local bassists just because they don't do anything you couldn't do, you need to: a) listen to them closely and hear what they do BETTER than you, b) realize that technical prowess does not immediately equal musical skill, and c) just because you didn't HEAR them play anything you couldn't play doesn't mean they can't, perhaps they were holding back ey?
