I need more motivation to play

So, I play with a band based in Fremont and we have played at Mojo's Lounge in Fremont. Have you heard me play? Do you know for a fact that you are better than me? Oh wait, I forgot, you are only 17, you can't get into Mojo's.

Check your ego at the door or else someone is going to kick your ***.

BTW, I suck, but am damn proud of it.

BTW, "I could do that" means nothing. I've seen fata$$es at the sports bar talking about how they could catch a ball better than some pro football players. I've seen skinny little stoners talk about how they are gonna kick the a$$ of a guy twice his size.
"I have done that" means alot more than "I could do that"

I remember my teens when I knew everything. Unfortunately, over the years I have forgotten most of it.

Was thinking the same thing...maybe nuclearrabbit can convince someone here at TB, with the financial means, to move to Fremont and motivate him once again.

I also feel sad for the city of Fremont. I had no idea that everyone in the city had disappeared or been killed; the news must have forgotten to report it.

Lets be honest here, it's not like Fremont is famous for generating gifted musical virtuosos, now is it?

Maybe we can get Nuclear Rabbits bassist to come in here and slap this guy up a few times.

You know what? I bet this guy has been into all those bars because he is so great. I played a few 21+ bars back when I was 15 because I was with the band. Didnt Stepah Lesard start with Dave mathews when he was 16? I hear they had to sneak him in at first but after a while the owners would let him in any time because they were impressed with his playing. Im sure he wouldnt say he was best in the city unless he had actually experienced the players who go in the bars night after night to play.

Would you?

just keep one thing in mind nuclear. a bassplayer is a supporting feature in a band. you MUST be absolutely in click with the drummer and take care of the rythm thing spot on.
as i said once before, if the rythm-section sucks, the band sucks.

i once thought i was the best bassman in town, i could play all the primuspeppersfishbonestuhamm stuff as well. but when you think about it, it's imitating. it's not you.

nobody cares about a bitchin' bassplayer. actually, most people get thrown off if the bassplayer plays too big a part in a band. we're not focal points AT ALL. we're a backbone, we make it all flow, that's our responsiblity. don't ever forget that.

I played for a lot longer yesterday. this thread has been working. however i must say that, you guys takethis board way too seriously. I mean all I said is that i was the best bassist in my city, which isnt saying much in fremont (by the way I meant in my age group although i probably am better than those 40 year olds that were playing before they were born.).well anyway, all i said was that i was the best in the city, and you guys dont just take insulting to the next level, you take it to the next few levels! You guys are the arrogant pompous ***. you ********. Moderators I think there are a lot of people who were out of line in this post. This post was not supposed to be an argument. Just a bunch of people telling me I suck. Thats what I need, not a bunch of *****.

Cool man, keep up the good work. I know this is bassist rooting for you.

You should get a sticker for your bass, "best in Fresno and soon the world."


If you are this good now, I can't wait to hear your music in a few years.
