this guys sei basses also sound a little supicious. ( the ones which were mentioned in the linked thread with his cat) while im sure martin could make the basses he describes, i have never heard of such instruments coming from him.

It should have stood out to me before but isnt a 9 with Lightwave pickups pretty much impossible?

Im pretty sure I read that they werent really being used on extended range instruments since the bridge pieces were too wide to work with so many strings and still be manageable.

mr. adler made a 9 string with 2 lightwave pickup systems in it. from what i hear it worked, although it was more of an experiment than anything.

I found Noguera's site and was amused to find that every word on the site is in French EXCEPT the product names. They have names like Expression, Expression Plus, Fusion, Fairplay, and Evasion. Makes me wonder who the target market is.

It wasnt so much that I thought it couldnt be built as I thought I remebered hearing that the strings would have to be placed so far apart that the neck would be unmanageable.

I guess you extended range freaks can handle almost any neck.

back when i was learning french i always had a vision of l'academie running after folks in paris, correcting their grammar, ala the "spanish inquisition skit" on monty python .

Wow, that brings back memories! I'm glad I wasn't the only person with that image in my head. 5 years of French and about all I remember is "Where is the bathroom?". I guess that is important.
