I Present the IdiotBox Effects's Blower Box

The demo video was terrible in terms of showing how much low end it produces, so glad you guys chimed in to tell it how it is!

I've not liked any RAT pedals I've tried so far, hoping this could change my mind, bass/treble EQ makes a big difference, I wish all dirt pedals had those controls!

I thought Matt did a great job at displaying how much this pedal can scream. You're right though, you didn't get any kind of feel for low end retention. Trust me, you will have absolutely no issues with low end loss with the BB.

Well, let's be honest, these demos are not recorded in a studio with amazing gear. Hopefully Mr Excane is on the list for his tourbox.

Looks like mjac and gregmon are advocates and on the board of directors for this pedal as I'm sure they were a tremendous help in promoting it!

When you have guys on this board such as them that have given honest and very accurate information to many topics, it's pretty much a slam dunk that one will drink their kool aid! :bassist:

Thanks again for the info on this...I will be sure to post my likings to this pedal once I get it!

I have high hopes on this one. I love my RK, but, honestly, it's not like there are a million RAT based bass pedals out there.

Of course, if it turns out to be great, JHS will probably copy it, sell it for 250$ and try to sue Idiot Box over it ;)

I was very hesitant about starting a thread on the pedal because I didn't want to come off that way at all and the builder himself feels the same way which is why he hasn't posted anything even with my begging :). I would consider myself a Darkglass and Fuzzrocious fanboy and I've happily owned and promoted pedals from both companies the Blower Box isn't better it's just a different flavor. I took a chance ordering the pedal even though the demo didn't show how I would be using it ninety percent of the time I like subtle OD and the demo doesn't show the full range of the pedal so I wanted to get that info out there. The fact that the pedal is so affordable was a shock when I first went to the website I was expecting it to cost much more which is another reason I wanted to get the word out.I just hope the folks who ordered one like it so I don't have to go into witness protection. :)

But...you did say it blew your Darkglass away in an earlier post! I get your point man, I'm just nit pickin' in a fun manner. I have the sansamp bddi deluxe and I know that it has it's place in many aspects of my tones, but the BB will really give me a lot more grind! Both will be on my board.

I'll get a gut shot up after I get home from work today around 4 o'clock if no one else does before me. I had said it before but I'll say it again, it looks very simplistic inside.

It's like some have said, it's a rat. But it's the flavor and the EQ on it that does it for me. It has a very solid sound too. It can be really think and saturating or it can be dialed in to just a tad overdriven. The other thing I love about this pedal is it's simplicity. I usually like pedals with a lot of dials. But I like the way the BB is set up. Unlike the RK, it took me a while to settle on a setting I wanted to keep. I'm in no way trying to slam Ryan's work, I just prefer the BB now. And I have never been a rat type drive guy, then I got the RK which made me appreciate rat dist quite a bit. The BB made this rat dist one of my all time fav.

The ONLY thing that concerned me was when I got it I thought the output wasn't going to cut it. It seemed weak. But when I got to practice last week, I cranked it, not all the way, maybe about 3/4th's of the way up, and it simply screamed! I can't wait to get home and play mine :) I also have a Squier p/j with the new EMG geezers in it, I got a pretty close sound to the one Matt got in his demo dialed in very quickly. It's easy to find a setting on this pedal. Very easy. Stacked with the BDPG, look out! Doom city.
