Dude if you are an octaver junkie you need to check out the Mutron octave divider. BYOC has a kit for one that I had built and I love it. I am seriously considering having both the OC-2 and the Mutron on the same board.
There is a slight ring modulation option on the Mutron that is just the bomb and makes it sound so unique!

I love me some octave too. I bought and took back the MXR BOD a couple years ago when my trip down the rabbit hole started. I wish I wouldve kept it. I liked it a lot. But I dig the OC2 I have now and I love my POG2. The octaves and pitchers on the zoom 60b are quite grand themselves. Oh yeah, and my new BWhammy is THE s**t 
The Loud Button subharmonic whomps, hard. It is very clear sounding...some subs are muddy and just offer a low rumbling...the Loud Button is as musical as it gets.

I just built the BYOC clone of the octave divider and it's way better then I expected it to be. The tracking was better and the ringer is way more usable then expected. I initially was planing on just using it as a traditional 50/50 mix octaver, but it's pretty versatile. The ringer option plus a Mutron III is insane. Also, you have the octave down only option. Can't say enough about this pedal.
It's sound good actually, it loses volume when the distortion is all the way up, go figure, but it's very much like the iron ether subt... the square wave effect is pretty cool. It also is a fairly transparent boost pedal on the dry knob. After an a/b with the oc2 it's really amazing how fat the oc2 sounds compared to anything else. Its in the same ballpark tone wise, but not as smooth and round as the oc2. The synthy square wave distortion from the axtron is really cool though!

yep the mu-tron is the original and still sounds the best.

I love old analog octavers - either with a bit of chorus or a lot of dirt
Only have the one on my board, but depending on the mood it alternates between an OC-2, a Pearl OC-7 and a DOD Octoplus... they're all different flavours of goodness - the Pearl is an OC-2 with an octave up, and the DOD has (IMO) the best dub-octave when soloed, as you can brighten it up loads with the tone control

I remember having one of the Mutron octavers. And yes it was the tone bomb.
I like the whammy. It sounds good and has other options. It is kinda large.
This is my octave of choice! I very much enjoy having the choice of "growl" and/or "girth". I leave the dry knob at 3 o'clock (unity setting) and adjust the others. The only tracking problems arise when I hit the common dead spot on my Pbass. I have it placed third in line in my chain, with the MXR bass compressor second and the micro amp first (for switching to Jbass).
