Problem solved, put in an Aguilar obp-1, and wired it passively. Sounds better.

Yeah, it helped clear up the sound, but either I wired it wrong, or the passive option for that preamp is really dark. But I will be getting a battery box soon, and replace my tone pot with stacked bass and treble cut/boost controls
