I want a doom bass fuzz

Hello,

I'm looking to get a new fuzz pedal that nails the crushing sounds of doom. Right now I'm thinking either the dwarfcraft eau claire thunder or the mountainking electronics megalith.

Both are monsters in their own right, but I want to hear about some more that can do similar jobs.

Also, of anyone is looking to sell either of those, I am very interested.

You really couldn't go wrong with the Megalith for this application IMO, but I am a huge Mountainking fan in general.

It really depends what kind of doom you're talking about. If you want a big spluttery fuzzy mess that blends into a massive wall of distorted guitars, kind like Sunn-O, the Megalith might be a good option. I wasn't a fan though, and I'm all about playing doom and stoner rock.

If your lines are more intricate, you have a less busy, more classic rock sound and you want to be heard rather than just contributing to 'the wall', I'd say go for a TAFM or a Muff clone (Eau Claire Thunder counts as one).

The Tall Font Russian get recommended a lot, but I think the Tri Pie '70 sounds even better. It's not as good at dealing with hot pickups as the TFR, but Matt can add a custom pre-gain control if you ask.

I agree the Megalith becomes the mix for sure. Its a monstrously heavy pedal. The Fuzzrocious Grey Stache is a great muff pedal. Just don't let yourself get carried away with all the mod options available. Tone Bypass is all you really need. The Diodes can add different flavors as well but I enjoy it the most with no diodes. When I stack it with The Great Destroyer I get into the massive wall of fuzz territory that the Megalith is capable of so I am pretty set on my Muff style fuzz.

I have a Diabolik. That thing gets pretty raunchy. For the price, I don't think you can beat the Blower Box (and it has Blackie from Voivod's seal of approval).

I also have the Diabolik. It's a nasty fuzz. Might not be what you are going for though. Very loud ripping fuzz that will tear through any mix with no mercy. I like to use it to make certain parts really stand out. It wouldn't be my solo fuzz though if I was unlucky enough to only have to pick one.

i use a rat tail set to no diodes with the feedback loop for ss amps or my mesa boogie d180 at maximum overdrive, i might suggest the behringer super fuzz 300, because it's only $24.99 and that's about 10 percent of what i've paid for custom pedals in the past and it's based off the old super fuzz
