Am I the only one who likes maple?
Looks really interesting. But I think I still will end up prefering the 70s version with the single large humbucker. No subtlety worth a damn with that one. Just a big fat and solid bass sound. If you’re ever playing an outdoor gig at a festival, that’s the bass you want to use. It doesn’t “disappear in the open air” like many basses do.

That's what I get for showing up late. Is it a tone or an aesthetic thing? I'm blessed to with crap hearing and like the look of the maple. I can't hear any difference thought I've seen many claim to.
I think it looks pretty sharp as-is, with the maple. A good combo of super vintage and a little more modern.
Without taking the time to screw with photoshop, I'm imagining full black hardware, and block inlays. Or maybe just the blocks, or just black controls. Tuners and bridge should match for continuity.

If you like that look & configuration, check out the Schecter Model T for a fraction of the price...cool bass, but the one I played was really heavy.
I was thinking about the Schecter too. The one I played was nice but heavy as well, main reason I didn’t buy it.
