Something VERY special about a Daddy to a little girl. I feel that way about mine.

Plus, they are more likely to be around and maintain a relationship with you when you are older.

The ultrasound technician told us we were having a girl. A few months later a boy popped out! The second time around I told 'em NOT to tell us, and we were pleasantly surprised with a real genuine girl. Of course we are happy, and would have been happy however it turned out either time. The boy is a better singer, the girl likes riding on the back of the motorcycle more. It's all good.

My first two were sons. When my wife got pregnant the 3rd time, I was hoping for a girl; but I figured it was going to be "My Three Sons" revisited.

But it was indeed a girl. All my "kids" are now in their 30s. I'm truly blessed because they're all loving, caring, and hard-working. (There WERE some times where I wasn't so sure it would turn out that way!)

Love my girls. They are 12 and 15 right now. My oldest just got her learner's permit. Wouldn't have it any other way. I just got to hang out with my 5yo nephews a couple weeks ago and that was a totally different level of fun...they crawled all over me to play.

I have my son, my grandson and my two foster sons. I love them all I can't see how that would change if they were female. I also have a niece who looks me as a father, does that count ?

Thirty some years ago, ultrasound was not used for determining the sex of a child. Had to wait and see what happened. Had my daughter first, then my son. Can't say I loved one more than the other. Just loved them for different reasons and the way the interfaced with us. Be happy you have a healthy child. We have been lucky with children and grandkids. So many kids today have issues or only one parent. Plus they grow up so damn quick!
